SAS will be hosting an observing night for members at the Restoration Society Heritage Park from 8:30pm for the total lunar eclipse. This is a special one: not only is an total eclipse, it’s the second full moon in the month (a blue moon) and the moon will be at perigee bringing closer to the Earth and therefore looking larger the usual. The eclipse begins at 8:51, partial eclipse at 9:48 with totality from 10:51.
